It does not matter why they are there or whether its good or bad because their main objective is to protect innocent civilians and save human lives. There are four categories of Rangers depending upon the position they hold: Private, General, Captain, Major etc. Let's check out each category along with its working atmosphere details:- Private Rangers: Private Rangers are normally referred as private bodyguard or security guard. This type of work usually involves protecting personal property and people from strangers, criminals, terrorists and even domestic/domestic issues. Because Rangers don't have any official jobs, they are paid lesser than their professional counterparts. Example of these companies are SGTAS, SSGs, WPS and PSOs. General Rangers: Generally described as ‘the backbone of armed insurgency’ or a company which protects those under higher level of supervision, like senior officers, heads of state, Prime Minister, Governors, presidents etc. Their job requires highly technical skills and discipline. Due to their expertise, this organization has immense responsibility over thousands of soldiers and armed troops.

They are often responsible for protection, medical care, intelligence gathering and many more. Captains are usually considered as elite group of Rangers and their task is to gather information and make judgments and act according to those. Most of these soldiers are known to be extremely disciplined; they follow rules strictly thus taking into consideration several factors before executing their duty. Sometimes, captains are also chosen by government agencies. Some like Frontier Corps have to fight with foreign mercenaries from Afghanistan and India. Major Rangers: They are a common unit which is considered to be most reliable and efficient. They serve as permanent personnel and guard various locations and buildings on an ongoing basis.

Though their primary duty is to protect and maintain public order, their primary focus is to control conflicts, prevent riots, and keep peace and order. Major Rangers are capable and trained to carry out both complex and routine tasks such as collecting weapons, building houses, providing law enforcement, maintaining traffic on streets, rescuing victims etc. All of them are always ready to do anything as per command but they must always remain calm and courteous all the time no matter what they do.
